Workers Would Rather Clean, File Taxes Than Attend Office Holiday Party

Nearly 40% of individuals are happy their workplace celebration was cancelled this season, in accordance with a national study by Convene. Of these, more than 53% had been happy to prevent awkward conversations making use of their boss, and much more than 56% would prefer to clean their houses or flats than attend their workplace holiday celebration.

Inside its latest survey of just one 1,200 workers, Year convene explored how companies opting for to celebrate the finish to the long and challenging, and how employees are usually reacting to it. Over fifty percent (59%) of the study respondents documented a cancelled holiday celebration in 2020.

Of the ones that were cancelled, 37% were pleased to steer clear of the annual celebration. Here’s why:

Some will in actuality miss their annual office celebrations. Listed below are those respondents’ favorite elements of their companies’ holiday party:

  • 32.8% enjoy hanging out with people they like.
  • 21.3% anticipate the cocktails and drinks.
  • 21.2% enjoy gourmet food.

With so many holiday parties canceled, what pandemic-appropriate virtual events would workers prefer their employers to host? Survey respondents said they might like their companies to own following virtual experiences:

  • 39% want giveaways or branded gifts.
  • 17% wish to do a fitness class together.
  • 14% wish to hear from the guest speaker.
  • 14% wish to cook or make cocktails together.
  • 13% wish to do an excursion together.
  • 9% wish to do a skill class together
