Telecom Engineer / Sr Telecom Technician – Al Wafa Technical Systems Services – Abu Dhabi

Qualifications:

Minimum Diploma/Bachelor degree in Telecom/Electronic field or similar, with 6+ years of

relevant technical experience, and should be familiar with working with Oil Companies sites (onshore/ offshore) e.g. ADNOC and/or similar.

Notes:

Preference will be given to candidates already in U.A.E. and who have previously worked with major Oil Companies

Scope of Works & Activities:

· Shall be qualified and certified telecom engineer/snr tech with experience on similar systems

and equipment to those available at COMPANY sites and with an experience of similar activities.

· Shall be capable to provide telecommunication technical service support of all COMPANY telecom systems for the onshore/offshore sites.

· Shall attend all activities required for the new telecom installation systems or any modification of the existing telecom facilities / systems (e.g., installation, commissioning, maintenance, review documents, technical evaluation, attend meetings, prepare the as-built documents, etc.)

· Shall be familiar with COMPANY rules and procedures for initiating the permits to work and all the PTW types (e.g., Hot PTW, cold PTW, working at heights, etc.) because the technical personnel shall become Performer, performing Area and authority authority as so when needed, and shall possess all safety certifications and gear.

· Shall be familiar with COMPANY safety/HSE roles and procedures for the new artificial islands.

· Cover the telecom service support for other companies that have telecom services provided by

COMPANY

· Shall be capable to tackle telecom system rectifications in a professional and effective manner. Carry out fault-finding analysis in Telecom systems using proper test equipment (e.g. spectrum and oscilloscopes analysers, etc.) with the correct approach to identify the fault, repair it & restore normal operational parameters of the operational system with minimum MTTR.

· Shall be familiar with & have robust technical skills and understanding to utilize various kinds of cables, antennas, connectors, adapters, etc. used with COMPANY telecom systems.

· The opportunity to handle component level rectification of telecom equipment.

· Shall be attending all daily telecom operation requirements within site.

· Perform timely scheduling of corrective maintenance service covering telecommunication equipment onsite, prepare PM maintenance schedule and carry out scheduled preventive maintenance activities for Telecom systems, identify operational gaps, rectify them as per system operational specs/parameters & manufacturer’s recommendations.

· Initiate and participate in investigations linked to radio frequency interference and propose technical answers to such problems for review and discussion with complainant.

· Identify requirements of telecommunication spares, consumables and specialized test instruments and initiate requests for required items.

· Operation of inclinometer along with other alignment tools

· Provide tech support team education and transfer experience to new local technical staff.

· Professional use of the proper hand tools and specialized testing instruments for calibration services and system testing purposes should be guaranteed in all tasks.

· Record all performed activities as per COMPANY procedures and notify supervisor of any serious faults or abnormal conditions when carrying out tests and repairs. Ensure all tests are according to the manufacturers (OEM) specifications/parameters and are accordance/compliance with COMPANY standards/procedures.

· Carry out final testing as assigned by the supervisor, recording data on control sheets, and referring to manufacturer’s procedures, manuals and circuit diagrams as required

· Maintaining the required housekeeping standards and ensuring full compliance of the executed work with HSE standards at all the times

· Shall carry out Routine Preventive Maintenance at each site as per mutually agreed schedule

· Shall be in possession of all the necessary tools and tackles required for their maintenance activities at site.

· Required to provide preventive maintenance services of two categories, namely:

– Online Preventive maintenance activities while the Plant under running in normal operation conditions.

– Shutdown Preventive maintenance activities during planned Plant shutdown or any shutdown opportunities.

· The periodic maintenance service will be carried-out as required, with duration based on

schedule of activities agreed with site mutually. However, on special cases such as shutdown

opportunity or otherwise, if there is a requirement for the same, they shall supply the necessary maintenance service then.

· Inspection routine service shall be carried out on regular bases with a proper plan mutually agreed with site the Agreement Products as follows:

– The system operating conditions of the Agreement Product shall be reviewed with the COMPANY for any non-conformity.

– Review COMPANY’s preventive maintenance plans and advice on any changes or enhancements.

– Shall prepare and issue Comprehensive preventive maintenance reports after job

performing the job, detailing all activities completed including agreements with recommendations and sites.

– Shall keep record of all maintenance and repairs performed analysis of failures,

parts consumption, stock levels & problem progress reports.

– These reports shall be accessible to COMPANY.

– Shall respond to any emergency assistance calls, initiated by the site responsible

personnel.

– Software support, involving assistance in diagnosing problems, configuration and installation advice, reporting issues & software compatibility advice and other software related.

– Documentation updates shall be provided for any modification carried out during the services

– shall be obliged to observe all COMPANY regulations and rules (as may be issued

from time to time).

Accountability 1

· Prepares and monitors first and second line maintenance of vital communication system/equipment used on the asset operation area (rigs, barges, super complex, wellhead tower and the islands).

· Repair of faulty equipment, commission and install of new telecommunication system/equipment.

· Draws-up/prepares specifications for telecommunications service and needed

equipment’s/services.

Accountability 2

· Coordinates the inspection of materials with Material Control Section, Das Stores and Musaffah Stores, prepares Damage and Discrepancy Reports (DDR), evaluates technical offers, etc.

· Ensures the detailed implementation of the planned safety programs within area of

responsibility will be progressed as per agreed target. Ensures availability of adequate system spares for effective operation.

· Draws-up/prepares specifications for telecommunications service and necessary equipment’s/services.

· Actively take part in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for all

Telecomms equipment and systems, and prepares punch lists and follow-up the progress of the punch list.

Supervision

· Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the designated area to meet functional objectives.

· Train and develop the designated staff on relevant skills to enable them to turn out to be proficient on the work and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

· Provide input for preparation of the Department / Section budgets, help in the implementation of the accepted Budget, and work plans to deliver Section objectives.

· Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost

control.

Communications & functioning relationships:

Interna l

· Frequent contact with Logistics, HSE, Drilling and operation Teams at own level to go over

requirements and work program.

· Regular contacts with project team to talk about Telecomms associated issues.

· Frequent contact with Materials Operations Team, Das Musaffah and Stores Stores at own level, shipping and inspection of equipment.

External

· Regular contact with Telecommunication vendors, projects and integrators EPC.
