Organisations are embracing experimental ‘pilot working labs’ to monitor working patterns of these employees prior to making changes to the specific office, in accordance with data from Freespace, which reveals that global office occupancy rates decreased in June in comparison to May as organisations introduced ways of tackle the resurgence in Covid cases.
The research, which gives insights into global workplace trends using anonymised data from over 100,000 occupancy sensors in offices round the global world, suggests there has been a shift from using social spaces in managing the safety of these at work.
June office occupancy data includes:
- 23 % of offices globally returned to work, down 2 % in comparison to May. This 2 % stopped time for work due to ways of tackle the resurgence in Covid cases.
- 16 % of the working offices are just a fifth full. 6 per cent certainly are a third full, and 0 just.5 % are half full.
- The global average office occupancy in 2021 is 20 %. In the US it really is 19 %; EMEA 18 %; and Asia & Australasia 34 %.
- Offices always keep social distancing policies important with a visible reduction in social space and meeting space usage.
