New guidance for decarbonising the public sector estate unveiled

Energy Techniques Catapult has published brand new Public Sector Decarbonisation Assistance for slicing carbon emissions across community sector estates.

Targeted at public industry organisations and the wider provide chain, the guidance facilitates a repeatable, systematic method of decarbonisation that’s scalable from individual structures to large campus websites and entire organisation estate portfolios. The guidance originated with learnings from the in-depth MEP program that caused industry partners to build up systematic, scalable and repeatable ways of decarbonising large campus-style websites, while ensuring performance and affordability.

MEP done a test mattress of 42 sites over the public sector in charge of over 294,000 tCO 2 electronic carbon emissions – equating to 8 % of Ministry of Defence (MOD), 17 % of Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and 6 % of NHS emissions.
