Building upon Flexible Spaces 1.0 core capabilities – workspace reservations, wayfinding, coworker location, and communication – Flexible Spaces 2.0 introduces new features that foster activity-based dealing with colleagues and optimize available work place through data- and analytics-based workspace design.

  • Neighborhoods: Space managers will will have the tools had a need to create Neighborhoods that foster collaboration, maximize utilization, and create spaces that enable employees to accomplish their finest work. Desks along with other spaces could be grouped into neighborhoods. These collections of reservable seats are assigned to functional teams then, creating greater opportunities for group-based activities and ‘casual collisions’ at the job.
  • In-App Check-In: To improve usage of available space, space managers can enable in-app check-in, making previously reserved space available if the employee that reserved it doesn’t utilize it, freeing the area for new reservations.
  • Space Traits: A fresh feature, Space Traits allows tagging of characteristics or traits to desks, rooms, and spaces to greatly help employees pick the best space to meet up their needs. This stored data will enable administrators to track how employee preferences change as time passes and inform their space design strategies.
  • Insights Access: With Flexible Spaces 2.0 comes the ability to extract time-series occupancy and utilization data via Insights Access, Comfy’s API for Workplace Data. These outbound data APIs ensure it is seamless to investigate both employees’ intentions to utilize work place – via reservation data – in addition to actual employee behavior via sensor or wifi data. With Insights Access, Comfy data (including Space Traits) could be easily coupled with other sources to investigate utilization across a portfolio of buildings, space costs by department, employee preferences, sentiment, and much more.
