During May 2021, the airport’s on-site restaurants and shops donated 2. 7 tonnes of foodstuffs and goods to nearby charities who can repurpose the products, worth around £16,000 at retail costs.
Items including sweets, snack foods, soft drinks, water in bottles, gift sets, t-shirts, textbooks, stationery, games, playthings and travel accessories had been kindly donated and can go to assistance the task of three regional charities – Unite4homeless, Birmingham Children’s House and Hospital Start.
