Balfour Beatty appoints director of sustainability for the UK

The international infrastructure team provides appointed Jo Gilroy as United kingdom Director of Sustainability.

Gilroy, of April who became a member of the business at the end, will be in charge of assisting and guiding the ongoing business in driving ahead Balfour Beatty’s sustainability strategy over the UK, along with reporting the Group’s efficiency contrary to the bold targets and ambitions lay out in its “Developing New Futures” sustainability technique.

Gilroy joins Balfour Beatty from Kier where in fact the position happened by her of Team Mind of Sustainability & Environment. To Kier prior, she was Mind of Sustainability & Business Obligation at the FTSE 100 logistics and distribution team – Bunzl.

Michael Shanks has been appointed as Head of Environment and Sustainability to operate a vehicle sustainable outcomes across Balfour Beatty’s UK Rail & Utilities operations. Previously, he was Head of Environmental Services for East West Railway Company.

Adam Newsome has joined as Head of Environmental Compliance in the united kingdom. He joins from BAM Nuttall, where he was Head of Environment for the company’s Silvertown Tunnel project.

And, Jonathan Turner has been promoted to UK Head of Sustainability and Environment. Reporting into Gilroy directly, he shall concentrate on Balfour Beatty’s ambition of generating zero waste by 2040.
